Amreace

Print, pattern, imperfection.

Amreace (she/her) is an artist and print designer based in Southampton and Salisbury. She holds a first-class MA in Visual Communication from Solent University and a BA in Textile Design from Leeds Arts University. Her practice explores pattern, transformation and the beauty of imperfection, drawing inspiration from the forms, textures and rhythms found in the world around her.

Amreace finds potential for pattern everywhere, looking between the lines to uncover unexpected forms and connections. She enjoys distorting and abstracting familiar subject matter until its origins become less obvious, while leaving traces to be discovered upon closer inspection. Fluid shapes, imperfect marks and tactile textures run throughout her work, which spans printed textiles, illustration and graphic design. At its heart, her practice is about looking at the familiar differently and finding new forms in what is already there.

Amreace’s work has been featured in British Vogue (2021) and Harper’s Bazaar UK (2021). She has also exhibited locally and contributed to creative and community projects, including painted bollards at Mayflower Park in collaboration with Solent Creatives and GO! Southampton, a mural created for CooperVision in collaboration with Overbury, and murals for various office spaces across Southampton.
