Living Community murals

Living Community Murals is a project that aims to uplift community voices, heighten a sense of pride in the area, and strengthen the connections between local groups and the arts community in Southampton.

The mural will incorporate sculptural vessels for growing produce and flowers, and artwork created in collaboration with local community groups, through a series of artist-led workshops, including planting, and tile-making. The inclusion of growing produce would contribute to an already concerted effort by the community underway to grow food and vegetables, in order to improve the health and well-being of the community.

Developed in collaboration with Ropewalk Community Garden, this project continues to be co-developed with local community members, to ensure that the mural will have the best impact, in line with the wants and needs of the local communities in and around Northam.
